A hook-up wire can be distinguished from all other types of cabling categories as it is a single ‘lead wire.’ A hook-up lead wire is defined as “a wire that is a coated copper wire, a tinned copper wire or another electrically conductive wire used to connect two locations electrically” (Wikipedia). The hook-up wire is always created with a single conductor, unlike other products that consist of multiple conductors (Multi-Conductor Cables).
