Description of Type GXL Wire:
Type GXL primary automotive wire consists of a single, stranded, bare copper conductor with thin wall XLPE insulation. Type GXL wire is excellent for automotive applications requiring high heat resistance and is suitable for use in temperatures from -51°C up to +125°C. The combination of its stranded construction and thin wall insulation also makes Type GXL a superb choice for automotive applications with limited space. This automotive wire also is a low voltage cable and can be used in applications up to 50V.
Construction of Type GXL Wire:
Stranded bare copper conductors.
Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation.
Temperature Rating of Type GXL Wire:
-40°C to +125°C
Voltage Rating:
Nominal voltage 60v DC
25v AC) or less
Application of Type GXL Wire:
The type GXL wire is often used for use in engine compartments where higher heat resistance is required according to SAE J-1128.
