Portable Power Cord
Sycor Technology proudly offers an incredible variety of portable and power cords to fit the needs of standard, specialized, and custom applications. Portable and power cords both serve the primary function of transmitting electrical power - a necessity in virtually every industry. Sycor’s power and portable cords are available in a multitude of different gauges, materials, and conductor configurations. Sycor, with additional stock and specifications, is able to provide a product that will satisfy your unique needs.
The main differentiation between portable and power cords lies in their applications. Portable cords are intended for use as temporary power supplies, whereas power cables are built for permanent installation. Power cords can be used in overhead, exposed, or even direct-burial applications and are most commonly used in the electric utility, industrial, and commercial markets.
The category of portable cords includes, but isn’t limited to, SJT, SVT, SOOW, SEOOW, and STOOW. These cables can be used in an array of diverse applications, from appliances to motors. They offer great flexibility, are able to withstand harsh environments and are cost-effective solutions. The exact specifications of portable cords are designated in their names, according to the following:
